What is a LCD
LCD display screen, also known as liquid crystal display panel, is a screen technology that uses liquid crystal materials to display images.Liquid Crystal Display, abbreviated as LCD is an organic compound that combines the dual characteristics of solid and liquid substances. Liquid crystals are composed of molecules with rod-shaped structures. When affected by an external electric field, their molecules will arrange in an orderly manner. By controlling the arrangement of molecules, the optical path of transmitted light can be changed, thereby achieving control over the image. LCD screens use this principle to achieve the purpose of displaying images.
LCD panels can be divided into two types based on their control methods: passive matrix LCD and active matrix LCD. Passive matrix LCDs can be divided into TN-LCD (Twisted Columnar LCD), STN (Super Twisted Columnar LCD), DSTN (Double Super Twisted Columnar LCD), and TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Array LCD). The principle of the first three types of LCD screens is basically the same, but the difference is that the twisting angle of each liquid crystal molecule is slightly different.
